Thank You Our Youth!
An email from one of the young participants:
The sun of New Years Day brought a big success of very first fundraising event to all the Youth at MCECC. After the Friday prayer Brother Mustafa made an announcement, on behalf of the Youth about the fundraising, requesting everyone to participate generously for the sake of Allah. Outside our tables, one on girl’s side, and one on boy’s side, was set very nicely, with a decorative sign asking to support for a noble cause. Homemade sandwiches, sodas, delicious cookies, and biryani were being sold as a big part of the donation. All of the Youth, Sharjeel, Mustafa, Saad, Hasan, Fysal, Rawshid, Nasir, Owais, Warda, Rimsha, Naila, Sidra, Sana, Asma, Rubaab and I worked happily with true spirit for this noble cause. It took great effort to make these foods, and to set up the stalls before prayer. And we didn’t stop working while selling all these foods and drinks. As people were walking by we were convincing them to purchase the foods and drinks.
After the fundraiser we all counted how much we generated, which came to a rounded total of $5,000, Mashallah. But this wasn’t the only thing that made us earn so much. Collecting $1 for parking, and collecting money for donation also helped us reach this amount. All this money is going for the Wudu Khana in our new mosque, which Inshallah will be built.
We thank all of our Muslim community for helping us earn all we did. More fundraisers will be held later this year to help us reach our goal of $20,000. Also, after this event I feel the Youth, including myself are very much involved in building this new mosque. May Allah give us more strength to be a part of this noble cause.
